The issue was due to the course language being ‘Kanji’ in memrise, which the script did not understand to be Japanese. I’ve updated the script (0.1.24) to treat it as Japanese so the script should work for those courses now.

Houston, we have a problem!

Has something happened? Today both Firefox and Chrome stopped playing audio. The dropbox for audio column is empty. Is it just me or has memrise beast broken the script again?

I’m pretty sure that has nothing to do with the script - could be a desktop application that you have running? Looks like a windows dialog box to me.

Sorry for the late response. It seems to be connected to a software program called Ivona or a a software program from a company called Ivona. I’ve never heard of it before, but does that ring a bell to you, Ali?

I have developed a new kind of phobia. The phobia that one day I will start my learning session and the audio provider script won’t start. And each time I start a session I hold my breath a little and then exhale with a great relief that the script is ok. Well, today my worst nightmare has come true. Something has broken the script. The session won’t start, I just get an empty screen and the word counter bar already full.

Tested both with firefox and chrome. With script disabled everything is ok.

@cooljingle, would you save a damsel in distress once again? I will wait patiently and with great hope for my favorite script.

p.s. Will probably also need a psychotherapist.

you can try changing the line in the script
"English": "en-GB",
to

"English": "en-US",

I gave it a quick test but it didn’t seem to change the voice at all for me. Also note if the script needs another update in the future your change would get overwritten.

Mine is still (or again) broken. Either the course doesn’t start (like in the picture above) or it freezes after answering correctly. This problem happens only in courses that don’t have any audio by default.

The problem appears to be back, the script is still on 0.1.26.

I don’t know if it has anything to do with your script though. Here’s a screenshot, it just freezed during reviews, I can’t continue the session but I can still pause it and use the “Save and exit” button.
