I sent out an email with this feedback earlier and putting here for wider reach. My android device is set in Hindi. The memrise app automatically shows hindi as the app language and there is no option to force a language. I find the app very buggy in terms of display of the buttons and the links. I would appreciate if there is a better translation to Hindi but forcing the app language to English should be the option provided, nevertheless.

The app will automatically detect your device’s language settings and use that language as a default to search for courses and localise the interface. In order to use Memrise in another language, and look for specific courses (when available)*, you will have to change your device’s language settings.
- (By default, Memrise will not show you courses in the language of your device, e.g., if your device’s language is set to Spanish, Spanish courses will not appear in the list of languages)
How to change your language settings on Android:
- Open your device’s Settings
- Select Languages & Input, or visit General management
- Add or select a language
(These instructions may differ depending on which Android device you are using.)
When searching for new courses, you will also be able to change the source language you will be prompted in. You can learn more on how to do this here.

That is not optimal. I don’t want to change my device language. I do not want substandard experience with memrise either. Please add feature to set arbitrary language for the app irrespective of device settings. The Hindi interface is really broken.
