Audio still not working in an italian course

Here are my computer specs:

  1. MacBook, Retina 12 inch 2017,
  2. Processor 1.2 GHS Intel Core m3
  3. Memory 8 GB 1867 MHz LPDDR3
  4. Graphics intel HD Graphics 615 1536 MB
  5. Version 10.13.6
  6. Chrome Version 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (x86_64)

On certain questions in an Italian course, the audio simply does not play when I clock on the large speaker icon. I cannot type in my answer or choose my answer, therefore and cannot complete the course. Frustrating! And no one at Memrise to contact!!

I’ll flag @MemriseSupport for you, maybe they can help.

Can you post a link to the particular course as there are hundreds of Italian courses.

This will direct the team to a specific course - unless it’s a general problem.

Thank you, Olaf!!!

Just linking these two threads.

Audio stopped working today - #12 by robertrendo20

Yes, give me some time and I will get you the course. Thanks. I think Memrise the BEST product on the market, but this glitch is preventing me from using it fully.

This is the course:

That looks a good course @robertrendo20.
I see this course is by @Micheal_Agbaji who isn’t around.

Thanks @robertrendo20, Unfortunately, it looks like the creator hasn’t added audio to a few of the items. You’ve now been added as contributor so you can add these. (If you go to edit mode, click Reveal all and then Ctrl f + ‘no audio file’, you can find easily which ones) :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s an amazing tip I didn’t know about.

You mean that I can record the audio myself so that others can listen and choose an answer??

Yes, you can either record audio or add an audio clip. Read how to do this here:

Further to this: If you do not want to record audio yourself or rather want to add audio recorded by natives, there’s Forvio where you can download audio files or ask people to record stuff for you:

Also, there’s a Chrome add-in that allows you to bulk-upload audio to your course. I haven’t tried it myself though, but I believe that it uses text-to-speech:
